Oranges, Navel Large
Navels are high in vitamin C and sweetness, but low in acid and are seedless. The small growth at the bottom of the fruit resembles a human navel. And, there's a slightly creepy, tiny orange at the bottom of each fruit when you peel them.
- Freshest in June to October (winter, but around all year).
- Good for raw in salads, 'car fuel' and school snacks (easy to peel), juicing, grating and cooking.
- Store in fridge crisper. Place cut orange segments in airtight container in fridge crisper.
